Nara Vale is a concept design we made for photographer portfolio websites. The owner is a fictional photographer who works with landscapes and people in the first hour of the day.
It is one page with five parts: opening, selected work, series, about and commissions, built in plain HTML so it loads fast. Clients who like this direction start from it, and we replace the photos, words and story with their own.
A full-width image from the first screen, with one sentence on what the photographer shoots and when they take bookings.
Six plates of different sizes on a 12-column grid, paced like turning the pages of a magazine.
Longer stories appear as a list. On desktop a preview follows the pointer; on phones each title has a thumbnail.
The last part gives availability, email and links, so a visitor who likes the work can get in touch at once.
The photos are good but there is no story. Visitors scroll past quickly and cannot tell what the photographer is best at or which jobs they take.
The whole site tells the same story as the photographs: light in the first hour of the day. The opening line is Quiet light, held still. Every image carries one colour grade, and the background is a gallery mat-board paper.

MobilePhotographs in this design come from Wikimedia Commons under CC BY-SA 4.0; the photographers are credited at the end of the live demo. Client sites use only the client's own photographs.
A magazine layout: large images, little text and generous space, so the photographs lead.
Instrument Serif for headings with italics for emphasis, paired with Instrument Sans for the text.
Mat-board paper and no accent colour; all colour comes from the photographs, which share one grade.
Portfolio websites start at 6,000 THB for one page. Extra pages are 1,000 THB each. One page takes about 5 days.
